The 6800GT still holding the OpenGL fort for nVidia :)

They have no idea how to review right .... they did the 256mb vs. 512mb tested on Medium setting?!?!?! WTF! Id like to see those tests on Ultra High Quality as that is where it will count if it does! :)

Yup, could have told them before that where wouldn´t be a difference. Fools. I can understand to use Medium setting for the sake of fair results (compare apples and apples) if you run general benches, but when you actually bench to see what performance impact the video memory has, you need to put some load on the extra memory first.

Congrats to the 6800GT, still one fine card.

I did found something on Firingsquad review (3D Performance with Quake 4: Part 2 Mainstream Cards) -

Copy/paste from FS article...
We have a feeling that we’ve probably stumbled upon a bug present in the older driver that was fixed with the newer (beta) driver. Image quality looks better with the newer driver in the second screenshot as well.

Now that the image quality issue has been cleared up, let’s see what kind of performance improvements the new driver brings…

Did you say yeah sure or yes sir? :)

Pretty funny thread (16bit color depth bug probably in the alpha textures on x1800) on the rage3d forum -

Is it just me or does the ground texture have more details with the older driver in the IQ comparison for the new ATi drivers. It's probably a subjective matter though.

Yes, floor and ground details are also better with the older driver than newer.
