I have the same thing when I try "dualview" with 81.85, the 78.05 drivers work fine though. I'm using an Asus P4P800 Deluxe, so I wouldn't say it's abit specific. (Using a 6800GT)
Well it could be a dualview thing then. Anyone else willing to try this out to see if it's with dualview? I had no problem with those drivers in single monitor or clone mode. I think the people who are saying that they are having no problems are people who have just the single monitor, so they wouldn't be expierencing this issue/problem.

It could be dualview, true. I use it also.
Almost would make sense too if they're reworking it for SLI or something.
I'll update here if I get bored and decide to try 81.87 again, but either way I can't use it if it is dualview. I can't stand only one monitor. :(

I know how you feel. When i'm on my laptop i feel constrained being i have just the one display.

Ok, I'm running on AGP's 6800GT.

The 81.85 did give me some issues (even though I was using a mod 81.85 then). :thumbdwn:

Game play will slow down quite badly after a while. My Optical mouse would freeze too at times. Desktoping is slower too. The only recovery is, REBOOT! But, then those problem kept coming back!

So, I switched back to previous WHQL of mod 78.05, all the above-mentioned issues are gone forever and my desktoping is back to normal and very responsive now.

Yes, I think 81.85 does has some issues with "some" 6800GT.

I'm sticking to 78.05 at the moment. Afterall, 78.05 does performs very well already in terms of IQ and frames! :)

Sounds like the dualview is likely the issue, I'm pretty sure that the issue after reformatting started after I switched my second display on...

Anyone had a chance to try out the dualview on 81.89? Hopefully they've pegged the issue...

Cheers,

AJ

I've got an ASUS K8V SE Dls, A64 2800, and an XFX 6800GT. I'm running the 81.85s with out a problem.

Wonder what could be causing the problems?

Haven't had a chance to try out the 8189s yet, but I'll give them a go and post my results...

After first reboot, the desktop glitched into 640x480 16 colour for a moment, then went back to normal. Everything seems stable and video still working....fingers crossed.

I have been using the 81.87's for a week now.... 0 problems on the desktop and so far I have been able to play my games without any issues at all. At least the main game I play right now is BF2 and its worked flawlessly with these drives so far (knocks on wood) :) Still need to test them on Q4 tho...
