Is there any special software that is needed to enable the SVideo Out signal so it can be viewed on a TV or captured via a Video Capture card?

Is this what nView is supposed to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The S Video port can't be used simultaneously with the VGA port if they use the same DAC. Although NVIDIA GPUs have had dual DACs since the GeForce2 days, some cards are implemented to have one DAC unused and the other DAC serve for both the video port and the TV out, preventing simultaneous use.

For example my NV28 reference card has one VGA port and one S Video port. The "Device selection" tab of the Detonator driver panel allows me to select TV out or Video out, but not both at the same time. What a bummer.

The more valuable implementation allows for one DAC to provide TV output and the other DAC to provide VGA output, allowing for two-display nView configuraton. For example, one of my favorite cards is an eVGA GF2 PCI card, with two VGA ports and one S Video port, any two of which can be used at one time. That's intelligent implementation.
