Hi folks,

Was just wondering, would this particular power supply be plenty for two 7800GTs in SLi ?

I have my eyes on this one, it's around the 70 mark. Because I am having to buy two 1GB sticks of ram and a new 7800GT my budget is pretty stretched already, I don't earn much in my temporary job and it's basically the kindness of my gf that I even have this rig to start with.

Going on the basis of running two hard drives, two optical drives, two 1GB sticks of ram and no intention of buying a sound card because my hearing aint all that great anyhow. ( Using Onboard. )

This one also, not as powerful but supposedly SLi capable.

Any tips or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys,

This one also .... doesn't mention SLi but could I use an adapter to gain an additional PCI Express power connector, I did get one with my card.
Converts two molex connectors to a single PCI-E.

"Connectors: SLi READY"

That site doesn't seem to give you proper info either as to what the amps are like on the +12v rails. That last one has 2 rails, but if they're both 13a then it doesn't do much good, heh.

Thanks TierMann, I will look into that me thinks.

I just realised, I posted in the wrong forum, it's early sunday morning and not found my coffee and smokes yet.

Apparently it has two +12v rails, one has 20A and the other 18A , that's on the Hiper Power 580 watt.

Is that plentiful?

That sounds about right. You'll want a second opinion though since I don't have SLI myself :)
