Ok, ive had this video card for a while, and it used to do this once in a while, but now it's happening alot. The screen goes full of stripes and wacky colors. I have to restart the computer and it will be fine for a little while.:thumbdwn:

i think the video card is currupted or something, im using ATi Radeon 9800 SE.

Are there any fixes? or tips i can have?

Thanks alot.

It could be temperature if you havn't cleaned it out (get all the dust out of the fan and heatsink) real well and you've had it for a while. Also check that the fan is running properly. If it IS allready clean you could try underclocking it a little and if that still doesn't work it's time for a new card :(.

The same thing happened with my Asus Radeon 9550 GE ( 128Bit ) . I overclocked the card past 9600 pro speeds and used to play games . It ran great for some time ( it didnt show any artifacts in games or benches ) but then started giving these weird lines and the display wouldnt show up properly ( i think i had used it for around 10 months ) . I tried to clean it and stuff but it died out :( .

You should downclock the card if its overclocked and make sure the temperatures are in a safe range ( if the card has thermal diode ) . Also make sure the fan is running and the heatsink is making proper contact with the core . Thats all you can do now .
