I activated all the effects and I am playing with High Settings.
The shadows in the canyon map look SO strange!

Is it normal? They are completely BLACK and sqared!

AA is 4X, AF is 8x.
My drivers are up to date. (6800GT).

thats not right dude - have you been manually editing the .cfg file?? - if so you might want to reset the defaults.

Looks just the same right here, perfectly normal.

Looks just the same right here, perfectly normal. No they aren't. They triangular shadow in the left of the first shot, and the two outlined in red on the right of the second are definitely wrong. The solid shadow along the wall in both is possible, although as I recall they only occur in the narrow trenches (in the wider areas, another light source is usually there to fill them in, or on maps with no inside areas, a low ambient light level).
And before anyone says that the Doom3 engine doesn't "do" ambient light, look here (http://www.gamedesign.net/node/1186).
(Short version: a diffuse only light entity around the whole map which casts no shadows provides ambient light).

Thank you for the reply.
I have not edited the config file, I tried to reset to defaults or set to "auto config" but shadows are still completely black.
This just happens outside, and I figured out I am not the only one with this problem.
I do not know what to do, I have the same gpu as u, latest drivers... :(

Yep because it's how the engine deals with shadows, those rocks are made of low polygon meshes and a normal map is applied to make it look "round" , but when the shadow comes along it will either give the polygon light or not - in which case it's black. Doom 3 did the same, if you try not to look hard they almost go away :p

Wow, so it is perfectly normal.... :o
Why then others say it is wrong? :|

That's pretty much the case, you just have to live with it until someone comes along refines the areas of Q4 in question in some way. Only a matter of time.

Those shadows look just like my shadows. The low poly outdoor areas make for some ugly shadows. Though I never noticed it until I looked for it after reading this thread.
