ATI is gonna get raped, but I want to see the Unified Shader Cards come out already.

Good good, it will drive the X1800XT price down so I can get one to review. :)

How do you think they are going to get that speed on the core ? There are instances on vrzone where someone got 600 on the core by upping the Vcore to 1.8v... but how long would the core last ? And what heat would it generate ?
Do you think Nvidia is playing a blinder and about to release the 90nm part already ?
Edit:- isn't the RSX chip supposedly 90nm...perhaps they have put their hands in the part bin...

Well it was obvious they were going to make use of that Samsung GDDR4 that they just announced last week.

didn't think that GDDR4 was in volume production yet... might be wrong though.

If that's even remotely close to actual specs I'm laughing my ass off at ATI.

As soon as these are out, who wants my 2.5 months old dual BFG 7800gtx OC at around $350 a piece?

I'll give you 600 for the pair :)

I said 350 a piece, that's 700 for the pair. Take it or leave it.

Edit:- isn't the RSX chip supposedly 90nm...perhaps they have put their hands in the part bin...The Inq report states that it's gonna be another 110nm part, with some changes to the PCB. Maybe it's extra/better caps for stability with a higher vcore, like you suggested. Surely there has to be an increase in vcore to reach 550Mhz with the same gpu? If it is the case, I can see current GTX owners doing voltmods for higher clocks.

Last week the inquirer said 7800GTX 512mb would have the same clocks and launch on November 7th and now they say its will be 550/1800 and launch mid November.I'm sure that if I start a new thread saying that it'll be clocked at 600/2000 the inquirer will copy it to its front page.

I've never seen a 7800GTX reach 550 core unless its been voltmoded or with exotic cooling and even if Nvidia could make it IMHO yeilds would be very low at those speeds.

That sounds like a good deal. Is the warranty still intact? And do I have to buy both or can I buy just one?

Wow amazing now everyone believes the inquirer when they have been slagging them off for years.

I don't know why everyone cuts down inquirer so bad. I think they are pretty good. They find news and post it. I seriously doubt they go out of their way to post bad news. Yes they said Nvidia stated that the next card would be 512mb but with same clocks, but as far as you know that is true. Then Nvidia changed their mind because they saw how good ATI's card is. They upped the clocks. Inquirer found out and posted that. Whats the big deal?

Looks like they read our 'Higher clocked 7800 GTX 512Mb launch in early November' thread, cause, they even took the link that i posted for the memories.
