Yea its good here rather than buried in a thread somewhere else, in case some of you are wondering if this will work in SLI boards other than the Asus, the answer is yes... however, its a VERY tight fit:

The 6800U SLI were tight fit too & worked with no problems AFAIK ... the problem here just lies in the cooling solution ..

I've been holding off getting a pci-express board until NVidia releases their 512MB video cards.
I guess I'll be upgrading in the near future.:D

Damn...how do both of them stay cooled? It looks like one blocks the fan of the other.

Because (AFK) the cooling doesn't really work by taking in air from above the card, but rather by pulling air in from the interior, over the card and then exhausting it out the back. 6800Ultra cooling works similarly, hence no issue with a similar tight fit of running two of those SLI.

I'm gonna take a hopeful stab at $599 similar to the X1800XT.

As I said in the rumor mill...I'll give my left testicle and possibly a kidney for two of these.

yup. 599-ish. and i bet they wont come down in price as quick as the 256 versions did cause nvidia knows that ati needs to keep the price up to get some money back for all the delays.

Wouldn't that be even more incentive for them to lower the prices?

not when they have the fastest card available

they price came down on the 7800gtx to a) make it a deal even though the x1800xt was faster, b) to make room for this

perfect strategy

Yeah, but still, even $20 cheaper than the X1800XT would be huge and would garner even more sales, I think.

Man, it looks like nVidia really nailed ATi with this card.

Gonna be hard not to buy at least one of these.

But 2 is a huge investment with DX10 only about a year away.

Decisions, Decisions. :p

Looks like they are using the new quadro reference heatsink/fan. I remember seeing a thread not too long ago here where they used that heatsink/fan. Anyhow, tight fit indeed.
