So I setup my new machine yesterday. Heres the specs:

AMD64 3000+ Venice, MSI Neo4-F motherboard, 1 gb Corsair VS Ram, BFG 7800 GT OC and XP SP2. I didnt tweak anything, left everything at default both in the bios and for the graphics card. First thing I did was run 3dMark 2005. It gave me a score of 6700. Is that score in range. I know I could expect more once I o/c the cpu from its 1.8 Ghz speed and also maybe o/c the card a bit but for defaults, does the score sound right?

Quick answer is "Yes, your score is right". To explain further, you are living in the past man. You should know that equal MHz does not make the performance equal. There are lots of factors that make his score double yours. On a part by part comparison, I'll explain the most relevant factors.

Athlon XP v/s Athlon 64 > 333 FSB v/s 1GHz FSB (on die controller)
6600GT v/s 7800GT OC > 8 pixel pipelines v/s 20 pixel pipelines > 128MB v/s 256MB

I'm not sure about what you mean by "my right scores", but if you're comparing your rig against someone else's, you could still have different scores. There might be tweaks or settings they have that you don't, or programs running you don't.

If I were you id jump off the 3dMark wagon to save your sanity and just use it to compare different driver sets, although even then it doesn't depict real game performance.
