Yes i tried single core (changed multiprosessor pc to standard pc in control panel but that caused that winxp doesn't boot in normal and safe mode also last good configuration didn't work). So i installed win2k sp4 and quess what both games are working just fine now. (same drivers and same game versions).

Gotta becareful playing with the HAL. Once you go to Standard PC, the only way back is via a system restore or reinstall.
The the recommended way to change it is to reinstall and set Standard PC during setup.

Still if it works fine in 2000 thats a good way to go, keep your XP install healthy and stuff up the 2000 install.

Enjoy some of the finest console RPGness ever.

KotOR is a Computer RPG released on a console. See Final Fantasy for console rpgs.

Well technically its a console RPG. It was released on and really designed for Xbox.

I mean, what kind of Computer based RPG has controls like KotOR?? Then there is the cutscenes that look ace on a TV, but not so good on PC (except for KotOR2 and the media patches)

To me a PC RPG is the early Ultimas, the Neverwinter Nights, Deus Exs, The System Shocks

Its a port, a very good one, but to me its still a port. Don't get me wrong. I played the game 3 times through in a row when it first came out.

I had stuttering and then unplayably fast movement problems with dual core until I grabbed the AMD dual core driver update:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Before the driver fix, I was able to start the game, go into the process manager, select the kotor.exe process, and use the process menu to Set Affinity to only a single CPU. This also fixed the problem.s

KotoR 1 & 2 though releasing first on the XBox are based on the Neverwinter Nights engine from Bioware with lots of lipsync updates and allowing a party of characters. Though I believe they renamed the engine... It was then tweaked further for Jade Empire. Though at some point tweaking a good design ends up at a totally new product (refer to NV3x, 4x, G70)

OK, its a Computer RPG the Microsoft Stole! But it was cool on xbox, better on PC and Jade Empire rocked too.
