How do I remove the faceplate on a 7800GT? I remember seeing some guides around but I can't find them.. anyone help me out? Thanks.

Just unscrew the 4 screws on the back of it. (They are the ones that your dvi cables screw into as well). It should just fall off then.

Won't that make the whole heatsink come off? There are 8 screws, 4 of them are in a square around the GPU, and the other 4 are the spring ones and go the whole length of the card. It looks like the all go into the heatsink rather than the plastic face plate..

Oh, I misunderstood your question. I thought you meant the IO plate at the back (the one the monitor connectors stick out through).

So you just want to remove the plastic that covers the heatsink? There should be some little screws holding it on. My evga 7800gtx does anyways. And that's how I would think you would take it off.

Yeah there are.. looks like I have to take the whole thing out first though eh? Can't get to them..

You mean out of your computer? Yes I would assume so. Why do you want to take it off anyways?
