Again, I've been saying it for years. Terrorism and death isn't the only war that has been wage on the West. War of intellect has been waged for years now. They use our weak PC society stricken ways to minipulate our way of living to dismantle and to conform to their way of living.
Grow a back bone Europe before it's to late.

pitiful - just pitiful
(cue drumph and zak)
The ACLU and atheists have been trying to get rid of Christmas for years here in the US.

This is the kind of stupid stuff liberals use all the time. "We must be more like Europe!" they preach. Screw that. As oldskool once said, that continent is "barely worth taking the time to piss in."

PCism, like the litigation culture, came from the US into Europe, not the other way around. That's why I said it was stupid.

What does that have to do with anything? It doesn't change how stupid PCism is.

Links? Or opinion?
AFAIK, the US court system is based on English Common Law...not the other way around.

what is PCism
what is PCism
A bunch of middle aged scanks on their periods trying to make themselves seem more important than they actually are, by taking offense to everything traditional in our culture and pretending to protect the interests of minorities.

PCism is calling blacks African Americans, Indians Native Americans, saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" and countless other examples.

Uhm...I'm not from Africa. :p

I'm not sure if thats true, but PCism does seem more advanced in the US than it is in the UK. This case is an exception. Generally the Brits don't deface historic buildings for example. I don't know what its like in France though, I guess its much worse for the Muslims to think they own the country now.
I don't understand how political correctness is still around. Nobody wants it. Even the minorities it is supposed to protect roll their eyes at it. The only people who want everything PC are the activists for it - mostly middle aged women with beards who have nothing better to do with their time. Why is the whole developed world bending over backwards so far it could suck its own balls just to appease a tiny number of whiny liberals? Why?
My workplace is really bad for this. We have no symbols of christianity anywhere this season. We do have a "family tree". It was a "holiday tree" but the world "holiday" still implies a religious meaning, so now its a "family tree". ITS A FRICKEN CHRISTMAS TREE! But there is no star on it, no angel, no little hanging nativity scenes. No reference to Christianity at all. All so fricken PC. But heres the best part... All over the place Hannuka and Quanza decorations. WTF?
I'm fighting back though. See HR invited everyone to hang a decoration on the tree. So i'm going to hang something totally christian on it. A little baby Jesus or something.
I'm not even a Christian, but I hate to see political correctness ruin cultural traditions.

Doesn't "family tree" discriminate against orphans? Quick to the courts!

I think it would be funny at this point to just go totally over the top. Hang up a card saying "Happy Christmas - if you don't celebrate christmas you suck". Just to see the expressions on the PC people's faces.
Or hang up a sign in your office saying "You don't have to be christian to work here, but it helps"

The only thing so far in this thread that could be considered stupid is you and your post. Where in the OP or in this thread(aside from your ignorant posts) for that matter confront the origins of PC? It's about the west as a whole being weak and far to PC and once again proven with this recent move in England. This isn't a trhead about a PC pissing contest about where it was born.
PC is all about freedom and rights and the fact that EVERYONE is supposed to have them. Something everyone here is obviously against. (Kinda ironic really).

I knew better than to do it, but I clicked on "View Post" for SDinc just out of pure masochistic curiosity. My brain is oozing out of various orifices now.

In the case of political correctness "EVERYONE" would exclude white males, hetrosexuals and christians.

Last week a decision by Lambeth Council in south London to call Christmas lights "Winter Lights" was condemned as showing a "total lack of respect" for Christians. Heh, and I thought political correctness was bad...

No ****. I'm sure as hell offended by the blatant assault on our holiday culture but nobody seems to give a ****. I guess equality means "special priviledges for whiny minorities".
If you don't like my Christmas tree you can go **** yourself.
