I don't know, not too far...past The Breaking or whatever and just in that general area where everyting was like level 8-10. My brother and I were the only two playing together and it was just too difficult. We kept getting mobbed by like 4-8 level 8s or more and getting our asses handed too us. I got annoyed, then a new computer and never re-installed the game.
Sums up my experience with the game. The whole time I was playing I was thinking how I'd rather be playing WoW. :p

It just sucks because GW has so much potential, but it isn't taking off like it could/should. Making it easier to solo or at least go with only another person, would be awesome.

Having actual item vendors would also be fantastic.

Having more POWERFUL items and weapons would be great.

An interface that gave stats would be incredibly helpful.

The lack of goals and time/reward was why I stopped playing. I felt like I was not accomplishing anything and frankly the controls and interface are very clunky. Ah well can't please everyone. ;)

superklye, Ninjaman09, I would really recommend that you give the game another shot. The Searing is about ~5% into the game, you've just begun for heaven's sake! I agree that the game is hard, but IMHO I am a very bad gamer with horrid reflexes and concentration, and even I have been able to adapt. I have a few suggestions:
- This game was NOT meant to be soloed. You can pick up henchmen at all towns post-searing. That said, the game is an order of magnitude more fun with pick-up-groups.
- Make sure you have a primary Monk in your group at all times, henchman or otherwise, otherwise you will die. Incidentally, most 1337 solo farming builds are also centered around Monks.
- Don't get overwhelmed by the side-quests. There are just too many of them, and if you start doing all of 'em, you will lose interest pretty quick. Stick to the primary quests and the Missions. The Missions are what advance the game's storyline. IMHO most of the GW missions have been designed very well and are thoroughly fun to play (very different from regular quests, *much* more fast-paced).
- I agree with your point about item vendors. You do have powerful weapons, but the drops are very rare. Even if you have the most powerful weapon in the game, though, you *will* die if you don't have a Monk in your team. Also, weapons matter pretty much only for Warriors and Rangers.
- Overall, this game is a lot about how you use your skills.

Hope you enjoy it :)

I think I'll give it another shot. Maybe over Thanksgiving or Christmas. I mean, I bought it and it's no monthly fee...I've got nothing to lose but time.

Cool angshuman, maybe I will give it another go. But I'm gonna have to burn out on WoW first. ;)

I "beat" the game about a month after the release... after that it seemed pointless to play. I still loved doing PvE but it was kind of dumb because there was nothing to look for to want.

Is there any point in PvE? Any better gear to look for? because last time i played, there was no such thing as "better" gear... just crappy vendor stuff I already have.

there is lots of newer gear deoending on how long ago you played. and for me, sorrow furnace is okay, but the REAL fun is on Underworld. it is enourmous and i love exploring down there. it forces you to work as a team.

I installed this game and played for a couiple of days. Just couldn't get in to it. Wondering if I should give it a go again.

Is it soloable? After dealing with wow's community I'm just looking for a game where I can do my own thing lol and not deal with all of the rejects.

yeah, it is kinda but only certain builds can get away with it. their is an invici-monk build, and if you use an ele, use a mix of water and fiire

The 55 Monk concept was pure genius :D

I got sick of playing it because it turned into a taxi service chat channel..
6000 gold taking people to wherever.. 500 gold to go this place.. 7000 gold to go here.. got old really fast.

Dunno about the post-ascension areas (I've just begun ascension with my first character), but up until now I have been able to find very nice groups. I guess everyone gets greedy once they reach Droknar's and see everyone else's 15K and Fissure armor. :)

Well, there are to many quests and missions where the henchies will not be suffecient enough to help you out. This game was not meant to be played solo.

I sort of figured that being it's a "mmo" of sort. I just remember it having those henchmen so I was just curious if it could be solo'ed. Being I only played it ofr a few hours I wasn't sure. Just with already having the game I thought I would give it a try but like I said earlier, wow tarnished my experience with MMO's. I just need a break from all the self-absorbed, temper-tantrum, drama queens. Maybe it's time to start looking at consoles again......Blah....lol

Play a real MMO and you won't have this problem..... wait nm no REAL MMO's exist.... the last one there was, was EQ, which went drastically downhill after being taken over by Sony.... It sucks now, but still probably better than WoW imo....

What would make something a real MMO?

Not really hard to meet the requirements of an MMO. If it's online with a mass of people it's an MMO.
