With my games if i turn vsync on in ALL my games i get a max FPS rate of 25 - 30fps
its as if my games are thinking my monitor is running at 30hz, with vsync off i get
60 - 100 depending on the game.

I can run the game at minimal settings and still only get a max of 25-30
even with tripple buffering on

which games are these?

I dont like the sound of that dude.

I'm contemplating a move over to nvidia on hmmmm MONDAY. ahaha

Using v-sync and triple buffering seems to work fine for my ATI GPU.

Dunno why your loosing so much fps, if TB is on that shouldnt happen.

Try re-installing graphics driver?

Ok fixed it..

For some reason even if its auto set in the display properties
for refresh rate forcing it will be at 75hz or whatever but in game
the game thinks its only got 30HZ to work with.

Using refresh force app , my games now run upto 75HZ vsync'd
ie 75fps, which it should be..

Though i get the odd stutter i hope to stop with a sata drive
and 2gb ram due sometime next week

IIRC, you can't enable triple buffering, at all, in those games. I'm almost certain the setting in the control panel only affects OpenGL applications (as with ATi drivers).

Yeah, like he said, the triple buffering is only for opengl games. For D3D, the game has to support it and provide the option.

i have noticed a few of my games doing the same thing with the really low FPS.. i'll have to try that force refresh in the drivers when i get home (at work on a saturday night:( )

Give it a go, let me know how it goes :D :D

To the others, will direct3d ever support forced tripple buffering?

well, i tried it and COD2 still sits at 30. if i have vsync on. when i turn it off, it goes to 35 down to 23. doesnt make any damned sense.. keep in mind that i dont have SLI yet, till tuesday i will only have the one XFX.
