wow
I sure hope thats not a typo
Man, that would be awesome :D
/me would replace his AIW with a new one perhaps.
-edit-
Seems to be a typo, if you read down in specs, its says Pci-E but I'll wait for the final verdict :D
If you look at the System Requirements at the bottom of the page, it lists them for both AGP and PCI-E.. so it looks kinda promising acctually..
Is Crossfire ment to work on AGP aswell? since they mention in in the AGP list..
Wow, Diamond is back. I wish they would have mentioned this earlier before I went and upgraded my 2nd system. Anyway, this seems like something that could end up helping ATI regain their footing.
Edit: Actually, maybe I should say, how long has Diamond been back? They have a full product line but I didn't even realize they were still in business.
Edit 2: Also, it only lists 256 meg and since they don't list clock speeds, have any designation like XL or XT, maybe these are meant to complete with 6800 series cards (i.e. give ATI another mid-range type card that has SM 3.0, etc.). I guess I should note that I haven't followed their line very closely so if they already have a card that is supposed to compete with cards like the 6800GS/GT, etc. then my guess is probably way off-base.
Edit 3: Maybe this is announcing a line of cards and not a particular card. Oh well, I guess we'll find out soon.

Wait, that link only shows the XL is in AGP and AGP or not I'm putting that PoS in my system. Is the XT coming to AGP? It's just about the only card from ATI worthy of gracing my system.
How did I miss that? It said XL in the title bar. Oh well...

Wow, Diamond is back.
Actually, they've been "back" for quite a while now- just not selling any high end (or more popular) parts yet. This would probably be their first for that catagory. And about time I think.
I've always liked Diamond, every diamond card I ever owned was great, from the first S3 based card to the Stealth S540 beast. I'd love to see Diamond back in the game! ;) :D :D :)
Anyways, if ATI brings their R5xx line to AGP, nVidia will HAVE to release AGP parts to remain fully competitive- too many people still use AGP to be overlooked from a financial perspective.
So, though I fully support PCI-E, CrossFire, and SLi- I say bring on the new AGP cards!!! :D :D :D

I am SO temped to buy that XL right now even though I don't even like the damned card. Beggers and Choosers right? If I get confirmation that no Nvidia parts or the XT will come in AGP I'll pull the trigger on the XL right now.

It doesn't look likely.
Now we just know one unknown website claiming a X1800XT has AGP.
Yes, Diamond is unknown now because I don't see ANY of their cards around. Even in the website they claim they have a full range of ATI powered video cards.
Yea Diamond has been back for a while now. They don't seem to be the hardcore innovators of yesteryear though...

dude, just get in on that eVGA deal where you get a GT and the mobo for like $400.

Well, if the XT comes to AGP, I just might do another "upgrade". ;) Same with the new 7 series from nVidia. Not quite ready to make the PCI-e plunge yet.

Why not? If you have a socket 939 A64 and are going to be spending money on a new card anyway, I really think the eVGA deal is where it's at. PCIe isn't going anywhere and with good deals now, it's a great time to cross over.

I currently don't have $400, and my 6800GT plays every game out there just fine with pretty good graphics settins anyways.
I'm actually saving up to build an "Uber-gaming rig" around the end of next year. What I have now SHOULD last me till then, even if I have to disable AA/AF by that time. ;) :D ;)
I'm thinking dual GF8800GTXs (512MB ea I bet), 4GB dual channel DDR2 and an A64 X2 5800 or 6200 or whatever the best is then. Sure would slaughter anything out now.
I do believe that patience IS a virtue. Thus, I am content to wait about a year. Why go high-end s939 now when a whole new socket that utilizes different ram (DDR2 vs. DDR) for the high end will be introduced next year anyways? Yeah, I think I'll wait.

But you do have the funds for a $500 or so AGP card?

It's crazy.
I can't believe people still willing to pour $500~600 to get an high-end AGP card.
If you have a 6800GT AGP, like me, it's better to sell the 6800GT and get a PCIe motherboard + 7800GT/X(or X1800 whatever).
And I don't know the AVIVO Transcoding capabilities of X1800 series still working on AGP ;)

Don't have a 939. I forgot the socket number but it's 700ish. I think 784...not sure. Either way, I don't want to change mobos until I upgrade to a new CPU [which I don't need right now, I'm quite happy with my 3200]. So AGP for 1 more cycle for me.
