Anyone purchasing a BFG 7800 GTX OC 512 or two :D , should be warned that even thought their web site states it includes a copy of COD2 DVD, you'll be disappointed to find that it's not in the box.

I was on hold for about 42 minutes only to be told to call their corporate office, which was closed.

Please let me know if anyone else received or did not receive their copy of CoD2 DVD, with your 7800 GTX OC 512.

here is a link to their product page where it lists, the contents of the box.

I knew I should have stayed with eVGA, but I wanted to try something different and the clocks looked nice.

Does it say CoD2 is included on the box anywhere ?, i didn't get any games at all with my BFG7800GTX but i'm not sure if the offer was available when i purchased the card, i didn't even get Far Cry which used to be included as far as i know.

*edit* nevermind, i just checked the link in your post and CoD2 is only available with the 512mb version

sorry SH64;)

Hopefully I will know more tomorrow when I call their corporate office.
TBH, I already have COD2 but it's the point. I was going to give these two copies to my kids.

If they refuse to give you a copy, you are well within your rights to go to trading standards.

Simply not acceptable.

There is an astrix after it states the game, but I cant find what it refers to, maybe there is something in small writing on the box?

Nothing on the box about CoD2. On newegg the image is too small to tell when buying.

I will be calling to get more info when they open later this morning.

The only software pictured on newegg is the "Video editing software", BFG driver CD, and the "Game Drive 9.0" disc. They don't list it anywhere on newegg and if you notice, the 256 version with COD2 actually has COD2 in the model number (BFGR78256GTXCOD2).
COD2 looks like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?image=14-143-043-01.jpg,14-143-043-02.jpg,14-143-043-03.jpg,14-143-043-04.jpg,14-143-043-05.jpg,14-143-043-06.jpg&CurImage=14-143-043-05.jpg&Description=BFG%20Tech%20BFGR78256GTXCOD2%20Geforc e%207800GTX%20256MB%20GDDR3%20PCI%20Express%20x16% 20Video%20Card%20bundled%20with%20Call%20of%20Duty %202%20-%20Retail) and is no where to be found in the 512 pics :(.

I think newegg has a different package. Looking through pricegrabber, other stores list (and picture) all software except COD2 but it's the same model (BFGR78512GTXOC) without COD2 on the end of it and I can't find a product with it on the end either. Maybe they didn't get around to shipping it yet.

OK, here is what I have learned so far.

BFG decided to offer the CoD2 DVD at the last minute. They sent NewEgg the number of copies so Newegg could send then out to everyone who ordered the 7800GTX OC 512.

so right now it's newegg's responsibility to send you your copy of CoD2. I am having BFG contact newegg for me because I know what is going to happen. I call newegg and they know nothing about it.

I will follow up once I get a return call from BFG.

I would hate to see newegg get extra copies of COD2 DVD after they charged us an extra 50+ bucks for these cards.

Also it sounded like BFG sent newegg 100 copies which = 100 512 cards.

bfg told me that the early serial #'s don't get it. I told them "FASLE ADVERTISING" The web site that clearly shows they should be in the box doesn't say "only serial #'s x through y. They told me TOO Bad! I told them I will make a big stick about it then. They said they don't care. Then a senior BFG guy took the call and said the same thing about stores being shipped a cod dvd for each box that was shipped and to get it from the store. Of course Tiger also know nothing about this deal. So I will never buy another BFG product again and I suggest any of you who run into this do the same.

BFG = Big Fat Greedy

That's not good, especially considering the premium they are charging for the 7800GTX 512MB BFG Edition of the card. :nono:

You should post this on some other web sites to see if you get the attention of the BFG people that can do something about this.

It's not so much that I have to have that game, it's the principal of false advertising on BFG's part. I'll see if Tiger responds and if not call, BFG one more time before I give up on it.

There are a couple of BFG PR guys that hover around the HardForums. If you'd take some time and make a mature, responsible post about it in the nVidia forums over there, we can keep bumping it until it gets some attention.

Just be wary, however, knowing that KB Industries doesn't take kindly to BFG trash-talking.

So far the person I am working with in sales has been great. she is contacting Newegg to find out how they are going to handle shipping the DVDs.

I told her that tiger direct customers where having the same problem. This was the reason I wanted them to contact newegg.

I'll keep everyone informed on the situation.

Thx for the info rudedog, keep us posted. I get my package tomorrow from ZZF, and hopefully there is a copy of COD2 along with the gpu.

That is true, but they could have explained the promo in more detail i.e. 'Game available from retailer, not included inside the retail package'.

Well 24 hrs past and no return call from Tiger and nothing from BFG. So I called sr level tech support at BFG again and he said he would call tiger with my order # and try to get one sent. We'll see I guess. Otherwise I gues it's the ole SOL.

FWIW, my BFG card arrived today from ZipZoomFly. The CoD2 DVD was taped to the front of the box.

I also received my card from ZZF today. Here is a pic of the disc, notice the 'For Bundling with Nvidia GPUs Only - Not For Resale' tag at the bottom of the disk. Looks like a direct promo from Activision/Nvidia.
