Looking for Monitor Gurus here..

I will like to buy a new monitor for really nice 3dgraphics and gaming. :) I really like Trinitrons/DIamontrons (the ones with the wires in the screen) technology.. but dont know which ones are better. Intense colors /Flat screens and very high refesh rates at 1900 and up resolutions is what im looking.i have been looking online for comparisons about monitos but most of them are are dated around 2002.

I've had good luck with my NEC 2141SB. 2048x1536@85Hz, SuperBright mode, Naviset control software which will help you get flawless geometry. It's about $550 now I think. It is a Diamondtron CRT.

Looks like it may be discontinued but stores may have them. CRT's are going away sadly, with nothing better to replace them yet.

Thanks!! very cool..
Awesome price..!

CRT going away?
LCD cant beat the quality of ultra high resolutions , at good refresh rates. there should be something else to replace them ,it will a step backward for graphics something like that. :(

Found this link while looking for CRT monitors
http://www.touchscreens.com/intro-displaytech.html

it summarize the reasons why i dont like them.. the only advantage they have is significant smaller physical size and its sharpness with text and soft display.

Agreed 100% ,I replaced a Dell 2001FP LCD with a 24" Sony CRT (FW900) a few months ago and couldnt be happier.

I'd definitely look into the FW900. I just got one off of ebay for $325 shipped, and the guy is selling a ton more. This beast is a discontinued 24in widescreen CRT from Sony that used to cost $2000.

One that I used for a long time but had to switch because NEC did/is not making x64 drivers is the NEC-Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB 22' Crt. Colours are vibrant, best monitor I ever had. Nice thing is brother has it now so if NEC changes their mind, I am not SOL. It discontinued AFAIK, but you maybe able to find used or refurb. Mine was a refurb and was fine.

I have the NEC Multisync FP1375X (both analog and DVI inputs) for almost 3 years now and I haven't regretted buying it one bit. It's the predecessor of the 2141SB and I bought it about 1350Euro back then. It does 2048x1536 at 80Hz.Anyway I want to sell it and I'm aiming for the Eizo S2410W LCD now or the brand new NEC 20WMGX2. Both are superb monitors.

Wihtout a doubt, one of the best CRT's ever made, I've been using one for a year now and its been a fantastic monitor, but my obsession for more screen size now has me buying a Dell 24" widescreen LCD monitor. It should be here next week, if I like it I will sell the 22" Mitsubishi 2070SB and keep the Dell, if not, I will send the Dell back and keep the 22".

I can't recommend the Mitsubishi 2070SB enough, its a FANTASTIC CRT monitor.

You could also check out Iiyama, they use Mitsubishi tubes.

I have a Mitsubishi 2070SB with spectra view and I would not trade it for anyother montior. Been great, sharp picture, super bright modes that will suntan your face.

I really like my cheap Samsung 997DF but I guess it's really only good for the price. I've never had a high end crt though so I wouldn't know the difference.
