Actually I really don't care about what graphics card ppl's uses or why they want to buy only NVIDIA or ATI. It's not my job trying to convince here or any other forums ppl's to buy e.g. only NVIDIA. If ppl want to buy only NVIDIA... or ATI, then buy... It's not my money. Imo, most important thing is that ppl's are happy with their graphics card.

The X1800 series is a very good and fast solution but not perfect - same goes for the 7800 series, because both have advantages and flaws. For me the best bang is the fastest graphics card in OpenGL.

This thread is gone out of control. You can be a fanboy but don't act like a spoiled brat because ranting and trolling doesn't help anyone. So let's keep this talkin on a mature level - can we?

So you r sayin the GTO2 is best value for money since its possible to mod it to 16pipes and O/C'd..? and considering the GS to stay at stock.
Lemme tell you, not all GTO2's will mod and O/C.. its on yur luck.
There are many out there who dont want to mess with the warrnty of their cards.

ASFAIK all GTO2 will unlock from 12 pipes to sweet 16, and from my reading online, all GTO's{regardless of which brand or variant} overclock like crazy, in FACT, they're probably the best overclocker I can remember, and the GTO2 is standard with 6 pin molex and 850pro cooler, IOW, ATI have designed a powerful toy for gamers to fiddle with.

And if you don't watch yourself, I'll strategically place an "s" into your name.

I joined here because I'm a fan of Nvidia, but I never expected this reception at Nvnews.
And all I want is the opportunity to excercise my right to free speech, and despite the constant accusations, I'm one of the most knowledgeable and unbiased people in this thread if not online when it comes to objectivity, IOW, I let the "batch of FACTS" convince me, not a marketing department.

So, now you can see why many people here are shocked by what you have been saying. Over here in the States ATI is NOT the better choice. nVidia is handing them a royal @$$ whoopin in both performance and price. Also, nVidia's releases this generation have ALL been hard launches, and I don't think we've experienced ONE delay yet from nVidia this generation. ATI on the other hand has been extremely lacking (hence neither Newegg nor Monarch having the XT in stock).

A great post overall Redeemed, but as I've already mentioned, I can only speak from my own market's POV, and in Aus all ATI is in stock and the 7800GTX 512 was often $500 more than the 1800 512.

Also, I think you're review is out of date as the X1800XL is faster than the 7800GT in Q4.
