Hey there, I usually do a search on these forums for a few of the games I'm currently playing and go from there. Good luck.

You beat me to it. I recently purchased an XFX 6800GT as well, and haven't had a time to test all the drivers for this card. I was (eventually) going to make a thread just like this one, but since you already did...

I second the question! ;)

Was that one of my quotes?

And do you know why things like poverty, starvation and AIDS exist? It's because of threads like these.

^^^As humerous as that may be, I fail to make the connection. I guess I haven't fully outgrown my blonde roots. :D :D :D

Because there are so many of these threads and there is no answer. It's whatever driver works best, so stop asking stupid ass questions like this, download some drivers and see how they work.

To add - it's whatever works best for your particular system. There are umpteen billion different hardware configurations, it's up to you to determine what works best with what you have. We could throw out arbitrary driver version numbers until we're blue in the face (actually, most of us already are at this point) but it doesn't matter one bit.

NForce 81.94 Beta with DX9.0c October 2005 SDK release, like a hot knife in a cup of cold butter, sure its so smooth in all the games...

If it helps, I just run fraps whilst trying different games/videos etc. Whichever gives me the best IQ with good fps and stability for my rig I stay with. Til the next release:). You will become very fast at changing drivers in no time at all.

lol.... :)

So ya .. dont ask what driver is the best... because thats just silly. Try several drivers and use the one that works best for YOU!

I'm not even gonna' bother. I believe I'm using 77.72 at the moment- don't actually recall to be honest. There are just too darn many drivers to try- it'd take several days just to get through 'em all! I'm content with what I have. It works, plays well, and looks good.

If any body else wants to dig through all those drivers for the 6 series- be my guess. I did that with my 5950 Ultra. It wasn't so bad then as there weren't nearly as many drivers to test. Any driver beyond 56.72 killed performance on my card. So the solution was simple.

I haven't run into a problem like this yet- then again my 5950U was ASUS' Rev2 while my GT is an XFX- that might be why I haven't had this problem! ;)
