I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm running out of ideas :D anyway here's what's happening:

I have a MythTV box that was happily connected to a 35" CRT TV using S-Video. The machine is an appliance so there is no monitor and when I boot it, the card seems to determine settings for the TV right from the get go and the picture was great. I bought a 57" rear projection TV and simply unplugged the S-Video and plugged it into the big screen TV's S-video and it still looked great. I thought maybe for some reason that it would be better for the card to determine the settings from the new TV so I rebooted it and holy did the picture come back looking crappy .... scan lines, grainy you name it it was bad. I tried messing with resolution and colour pallete but nothing worked.

What I did to get it working again was drag the old 35" TV over, plugged that in to the card, booted and waited until everything loaded, THEN unplugged the S-Video cable and plugged it into the big screen and the picture again looked awesome. The problem is this machine can never go down if I leave it like this!! I can't keep a spare TV with S-Video around just so I can boot with that tv and when it's booted swap tha cables.

Does anyone have ANY ideas on what I could do to just have it work properly right from boot?? could it be a setting on the tv I need to change that the card needs to see when the machine boots?? PLEASE any help is greatly appreciated!!
