Ok ok, funny jokes aside, please post rumours about GPU and Vmem clock speeds (no use talking about "other" features since its just the same chip).

The only one I heard is ASUS with 650Mhz, DDR1550 X1800XT "TOP" edition.

Do you guys think there is further room for a retail product? (yeah yeah, we all know you can OC to 700, even 800+ with LN2, but how guaranteed or practical is that)

I think pretty much everybody has done the math to figure out that ATI would need 812Mhz GPU clockrate to match the new 512MB GTX in fillrate (13GT/s vs 10GT/s), but anyone know of any extreme site like www.xbitlabs.com doing scaling experiments to see how well the XT handles GPU overclocking vs Vmem overclocking (which help more in games). If its the memory, then chances are all ATI would need is some of those bitter-sweet 1.1ns Samsung truffles.

Personally, IMHO, I'm not holding my breath on price or availability ;)

Tweaktown (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/835/ati_radeon_x1k_overclocking_testing_r520_and_rv530/index.html) had a bit of a play with o/c'ing the X1800XT on air

Spending a grand to OC a vid card is just assinine. Either get SLI/Xfire, and if that's not enough get laid...alot...until it's out of your system.

I am surprised at these benchmarks performed very low scores, it didnt gained large performance increases when overclocked 40MHz on the core to 665MHz and 220MHz on memory speed to 1720MHz. My Geforce 7800 GTX card at 500/1350 outperformed all these benchmarks, X1800 XT at 650/1500 wont cut, it going to need 700/1700 to match my card.

Yet i see OWA gets around 8,900 with a stock X1800XT(CPU = AMD 4000+) and around 9,200 o/c'ed

You gotta let me know this secret OWA whatever it is, because the previously posted Tweaktown review they get 8311 @ 625/750(stock), and 8470 at 665/860, using:
Test System Setup

Processor(s): AMD Athlon X2 3800+
Motherboard(s): ASUS A8N SLI Premium (Supplied by ASUS)
Memory: 2 X 512MB Mushkin PC4000 DDR (Supplied by Mushkin)

Nevermind.. found review using Athlon 64 4000+ (same as the one you mentioned) at http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/radeon-x1800_21.html

9,000 seems to be about the norm for a stock XT, even with an X2 4800 (http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q4/geforce-7800gtx-512/index.x?pg=9)(Catalyst 5.10a beta drivers)

I had my X1800XT at 680 core / 770 Memory and got 96xx 3dm 2005. Stock was about 86xx.

Still - my GTX512 at 604 / 1.75 is getting 10,200.

blah blah blah <yawn>

700/1600 seems very agressive.. most people barely clear 700 when overclocking... I wouldn't have expected that much until maybe 80nm, or some process enhancements (afterall, already well over 100W with the plain X1800XT)

This go around reminds me of the whole AMD-Intel deal.

ATI is having to clock the dog crap out of there card to
try and run with nvidia. "lol"

NV was smart. Higher IPC is the way to go these days.
Less power and heat.
