Dell, the world’s largest maker of personal computers (PCs), is about to start building PCs with processors from Advanced Micro Devices inside. According to Forbes, which cites Chinese-language news-paper Economic Daily News, Taiwanese manufacturers have already received orders for appropriate mainboards and other infrastructure.

You can also buy Dell PCs with Linux on them. But there's not really any point since they are near impossible to find, and offer no cost saving on buying a PC with Windows.

Are Dell seriously adopting AMD or is this just a little game to get Intel off the hook after AMD's lawsuit against Intel?

im sure theyre seriously considering taking AMD processors, and its not to benefit intel. with that XPS line of PC's aimed at the enthusiast, and probably hearing enthusiasts demand AMD processors more than not, its a good move.
