Hi all,

I successfully installed the new NVIDIA (4191) driver on my RH 8 computer. I had upgraded via "up2date" to kernel 2.4.18-19.8.0. To make 4191 drivers to work with this kind of setup, i had to install my current kernel header from RH 8.0 and do a "rpmbuild --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel...". It work good, but I see a 2D slowdown and frequent freeze when using the "File Manager" that come with Gnome (dont know the name), it's the icons on the desktop "personnal folder".

If anyone can help me with that, it will very appreciate.

Thank you in advance.

Oh, thank you. But where in this 8 pages thread i can find howto make my X more stable. If I understand, I have to "turn off Nautilus". But Where can I do that ??

If It's not only the Nautilus thing, can you tell me what I have to do or at least tell me the page number in the big thread !?

Thank you.

Sorry, I don't know for Nautilus, as I don't use Gnome... However, most people seem to recommend to keep the v1.0-3123 drivers until NVidia fixes the lastest release...

You can get the older drivers here (http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_display_archive).
