View Full Version : A8N-E repeated bluescreen

Hi guys.

I have the following system:
Windows XP SP2
Asus A8N-E with latest drivers
AMD 3000+ Venice
Seagate p80 160GB
2x 512MB ddr ram
Nvidia 6600 PCI-x 81.85 drivers

The setup is really minimal because I have just set it up. Problem is that it will bluescreen 5 secs after the desktop is shown. Either "attempting to execute memory that was non-executable" or "irql_driver_not_less_than_or_equal". I really cant figure out what is wrong. System boots fine in secure mode seemingly.

Could it be the nvidia hardware firewall? (enabled)
Could it be a defective ram stick?

best regards
Knut Inge

I should add that I have been using speedfan and found that temperatures are very nice. I have now disabled it to exclude it as the source of my problems. BIOS is set to defaults as well.

does the error message point to any specific dll or driver? that may give a clue.

I did a system restore a week back and everything was fine. Then I installed the newest Nvidia chipset driver and the problem was back.

Guess I`ll not use the chipset driver then.

I use the 6.7 drivers with my Asus A8N-E and it works flawlessly. Did you install them ?
