Pffffffft, I get higher framerates on my pc in UT2K3 at MAX details.
I also seen Geforce 4's score higher. :/

Then again the guy isn't running a heavily modded machine. :)

I find it very funny how all you FanATIcs use the words "Slay", and my favourite for most overstated "Blows Away". Yet NONE of you use the word "PRICE".

Funny that, hmmm ?

If you don't know WTF I'm on about, then perhaps you should think about where other people live, for a change, and check their prices.

I can't see any of the 9700 PRo cards for less than £300.
Yet I can find a Ti4200 for £95 inc VAT.
And at my local Computer Fairs, I can pick the same card up for £89. So how can you compare them ?

And funny how nearly all the GF4 cards offer VIVO, yet to get those features on an ATI card you have to buy the even more expensive AIW cards.

A Geforce 4 i 4600 down here in Australia, best price where I live is close to that of a Radeon 9700 Pro.
Also don't forget that many people are well off and can easily afford things. :)

I never complained when I first bought my Geforce 3 for $950. :)
Or my R300 for $800.
I bought both when they came out and were new down here in Melbourne. :)

But then on the horizon appeared a new champion to smite the usurper.

ok, here you go http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20021202/radeon_9500-07.html#4x_fsaa

like fantomas said "check it out, they all slay the geforce4 with AA and ansio enabled..." and even further, the 9500pro not only rapes the 4600 with AA and AF but costs less, because not everybody is rich here to buy a 4600 :angel2:

and no, only the more expensive versions offer vivo, but ALL radeons offer video-out. and he was comparing to the 4600 in the review, wtf are you talking about the 4200 for?

[edit] i just made a search and you can buy a 9500pro for $150
jeez, is it that hard to admit that for now ati has superiority until the nv31 and nv34 come out?

Haven't you ever heard of the law of dimishing returns?!

Plus, you seem to have a big problem in that you can't find any Radeon 9700 Pros for under £300. Browse with your eyes open next time.

he was talking about the gf4Ti4200.

i think we can all agree that the gf4Ti4600 is overpriced.

and maybe Fusion really can't find the r9700 for less than £300 in his country

Being that MuFu is from the same country, I highly doubt that.

hmmm, such anger...I get the feeling Nvidia pay people to up nvidia products on forums and slag ATi, for a job. That would explain why everytime ATI is on slashdot someone chimes in with "but the drivers suck" almost immediately :D

I don't how many times I have said this, but I believe the best way to go about buying video cards is to junk stupid company loyalties and go for the best deal.

Why the hell would anyone want to buy a Ti4200 for?

Other than for it's price.

Come on, there has to be more to it than that?

why?

gf4Ti4600 is significantly more expensive than gf4Ti4200, at least to me. considering i can find a Ti4200 for $100 with no effort(literally on 10 different occassions), but i've seen the Ti4600 once for $180. usually the price is $200+ when purchasing it.

best price for the 9700 pro in the UK is £274.70 incl VAT + Del
http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-info.asp?quicklinx=28D3KK&refererid=KK

and the cheapest GF4Ti4600 for £200
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000639DI/ref%3Dbr%5Flf%5Fce%5Fh%5F%5F3/shopgenie/202-0206522-1515835

£75 is still £75 no matter which way you look at it

My R300 was only a few hundred dollars more expensive. Not much IMO.

other people do consider that a large sum of money, and they have expressed such feelings in these forums. please repsect them.

note: i am not one of these people. but a lot of people do consider it more than trivial.

You said your father bought you R300? :spank:

Maybe it's not a problem for your father but for us students/jobless people 300 pounds/us dollars/you name is a sacrifice

When I say I bought it I mean my dad bought it. I asked for it my mum provided the money and my dad went with me to buy it and he signed the papers or whatnot.
