Yeah, I know. But honestly, I've had less trouble with this system than I've had with any of my nForce machines from a software standpoint. And I've owned nForce2, 3 and 4 machines. This board (MSI RS480M2-IL) gets along wonderfully with NVIDIA graphics cards. I'm really happy with it.
So you have no problem running SLI on that board? Or are you back to single card for the time being?

The one thing I've always been nervous about is having an nFORCE-based board and an ATI graphics card due to driver conflicts. I remember, maybe 2 years ago, my dad was using an nFORCE2 board and had a 9200SE and that thing crashed CONSTANTLY. As soon as he got an FX5200, it was (and has been since) rock solid.

I know his is just one case and it really could've been a lot of other things--the card could very well have been dying, and he replaced RAM in there a few times, too--but that has always stuck out in my mind.

That and I just like nVIDIA more.

I will try and buy an x1800xt after christmas. The 512mb 7800 GTX is just a bit too expensive for me at the moment.

I think it bad idea to try buy one after christmas, the prices of 7800 GTX 512 could drop as low as £400 in January sales and also both ATI and Nvidia will launch new flagship 90nm R580 and G71 7900 Ultra clocked 750MHz in Q1 2006 then the prices of X1800 XT 512 and 7800 GTX 512 will fall.

This is really a slap in the face to the folks that ponied up $600 for the R520 in the last few weeks. I have a feeling that is why the X1800XT isnt selling so well (that and the fact that its not in stock anywhere). I bought one and sold it for a GTX 512MB - didnt feel like owning an outdated card in a month. Not fair to expect people to shell out $1200 in a few months - boycott the R520!! :D

I see your name is fatal1ty. Are you the dude who is the gaming champion of the universe or just an ordinary Joe.

Rofl, I keep waiting and waiting. :)
I'll wait for the G71.5 7901 Ultra Extreme clocked 890MHz in Q2. :zzzz:

(snowlol) You are not the only one who keep waiting and waiting, ATI fans are the worst hit who suffered the big pain after 5 months of waited for X1800 XT 512 and learnt it was in very limited availability. With their big lump of cash big enough to buy 2 7800 GTX 512 cards for SLI, they went and bought it along with NForce 4 SLI board.
