European XFX 7800GT

I read 2 reviews about it, one in a mag and one on a web site, both were able to achieve 480+/1150+

I read one review that says it come out of the box overclocked to 450/1.2 and I was wondering does anyone have one of these and does it come factory overclock to 450/1.2,Would it be a much of a upgrade from a 6800ultra ,Plus would a ATI X1800XL be faster then the 7800GT.

Stop it! STOP!!!!! Stop antagonizing me the glorious 7800 series. You make me want to buy it now!!! But I must wait one more month since I just bought the X2 3800+ and a bunch of dirt bike gear...

I ordered an XFX today, the problem is I live in the Middle East which is supposed to be a European Like area......yet most of the products tends to be American standards.....I hope the one I ordered would be this one and not the American XFX 7800GT.

Evga clocks the highest , i-e Evga e-Gforce 7800GT CO edition . The heat sink is made from copper and allows you to overclock even further .

PS : Xfx clocks to 450/1.05

Plus would a ATI X1800XL be faster then the 7800GT? Generally? No.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2552&p=10

Since the article was written, there was (apparently) an increase, through drivers, in OpenGL performance on the ATi end. Everything else stills holds though, and NV still gets the drop on ATi in OpenGL, even after the increase. So still, generally? No. The XL is not faster.

Yeah it seem eVGA is very good brand like BFG, I just heard that ex Gainward employee opened new eVGA Europe (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=26698) office in Germany in October last month but it gave no mentioned when eVGA cards start show up in retailers in UK. Maybe eVGA could be my next card if it will have the highest clock speed at the right price with great warranty and RMA, I hope BFG will follow eVGA example to open BFG Europe office here.

I looked at all of them and since I have a EVGA 6800ultra and it has never gave me no problems,I went with the EVGA 256-P2-N517-AX since it is clocked at 470 /1100 plus it has a copper heatsink.

Good choice. Check your stock settings when you get the card...you might need the bios upgrade. Mine was set to 470/1200 (should be 470/1100). You can also use coolbits to set it back to 1100 if you feel uncomfortable with a bios upgrade.

Anyways, nice card!
