Hi,
First I want to tell you, that I'm German! My second Problem is my Motherboard: ASUS A8N - SLI (without Deluxe!), AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and SuSE 10 Final. I'm using an 5.1 Sound System.
1) The Front and Rearspeakers are "working" so far
2) The Centerspeaker and Subwoofer only makes some noise, when I connenct the jack to the Line In In/Output
3) If I turn up the bass, the small speakers are also trying to play the deep basses, which sounds terrible
4) YaST only shows a Mainboard called K8N4-E. It is using the intel8x0 driver.
So I tried to install the NForce driver 1.0-0310 (http://www.nvidia.de/object/linux_nforce_amd64_archive_de.html). My /etc/modprobe.d/sound looked like this:
options snd-intel8x0 enable=1 index=0
# 8otl.OtT5SLVvnv3:K8N4-E Mainboard
alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
I have changed it like this file (scroll down to "Other distributions") (http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/nforce/amd64/1.0-0306/ReleaseNotes.html#Configuration). Now it looks like this:
# options snd-intel8x0 enable=1 index=0
# 8otl.OtT5SLVvnv3:K8N4-E Mainboard
# alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
alias sound-card-0 nvsound
alias snd-intel8x0 off
alias i810_audio off
After a modprobe and a restart , I can't listen to my music, only the KDE Sound System is working! In YaST the device is shown as "not configurated". If I want to change the settings, Setup abort with an Error. I can start NVmixer, but it dosn't help me anymore...
How can i get my sound working??
Kernel 2.6.13-15-default
KDE Version 2.6.13-15-default
SuSE 10 Final
Asus A8N SLi (nforce4)
