I've been visiting NV News since 1997/1998, back when Nvidia was a pindrop in the graphics business (Riva128 Viper3d.com)> In all of that time, I always thought I had earned the respect of Mike Chambers and , though I didn't post every day or post everything under the sun, i thought we had a understanding. Obviously , and sadly , I was wrong and mistaken
Further, my distinct absence from posting news and the forums had nothing to do with reviews that I obtained hardwar for other sites in their name for (it's hard to write a review for a site if I ask for it or receive such hardware from a company or the site in the name of another site)
Mike never bothered to email me till yesterday , asking where I was, what was going on, nor if everything was ok. Had he been absent, I would have emailed him. And in fact have.
You might ask where I've been. That's a good question. The last 6 months have been hard on me. I nearly lost my wife and have been laid off from my regular job.
I've spent most of the last two months trying to repair my family life. And sent Mike an email to that effect.
Now that that is behind me. My wife and I have reconciled, and my job situation is stabilized.The first email I got from the new year,was "Ben I've removed you from newspostings. I'm sure you can get enough work at Motherboards.org, Rage3d and PCRave"
Without going into the politics of the sites I work for/don't work for . I've always thought I maintained a close relationship with Mike with the understanding that I posted reviews on PCRave news on NVNews and PCRave. The Motherboards.org article was more or less a one-time deal. I had sent a email asking Mike if he was interested in the article, never got a response.
I never thought posting a link on Rage3d would be an issue either. Yet it was mentioined.
It's not my intention to make a big deal out of my life. Nor am I totally gone . But sometimes, I can't just stay silent on the issue when so many other changes have been made
