Anyone hear anything about the new M-Audio Revolution 7.1 soundcard? ETA on this was before x-mas, but I've seen nothing yet. Anyone got any info on it?

They have a Buy It button but it doesn't seem to work.

Yeah, been trying it everyday and no go. But it must be coming out soon, it's just that there is absolutely no info on this card anywhere except for reports back in November and the beginning of December. Only place that has it listed is Digital Connection, which say the ETA on the card is sometime near the beginning of December (they need to update it).

I found a lot of info on this card over at AVS forums. Looks like the deadline is sometime near the end of Jan. Think I'll preorder this card at digitalconnection. :)

This is the first I have heard of this card, it looks really good. Any idea how much it will cost? I must say I love my GametheaterXP, but I would like to hear if there is much of a difference between a full 24bit and 16bit decoding, the Audigy2 doesn't count as they jacked it all up.

volt, I don't see why you wouldn't wait for this. It would run circles around either soundcard you mentioned (well, that might be exaggerating, but you get the idea ;)). Harnagel, retail price is $99.

Looks good, I'll wait for a review or two before I buy anything though.

M-AUDIO Sound Card - "Revolution" RTL ?

Looks like it will be VERY soon because newegg is listing it :)

Yeah, it was in stock at newegg for like 20 minutes and then sold out. I think I'm gonna wait for reviews myself, but more than likely I'll get this card. My onboard audio will be sufficient for the time being anyway.

Man, I was just looking at the specs again this card looks perfect being that my speakers are analog (Klipsch 5.1). I noticed that the SN ratio from A to D was 100dB while from D to A was 107dB. Does this mean anolag out should be higher quality than digital out on this card?

On a side note, I've heard that having the DAC and other components so close to the computer has a negative impact on sound integrity due to interference. I was wondering if surrounding the card in a wire mesh box (making a faraday cage) would improve things. If so would it matter what size should the mesh is, what frequencies are we most worried about?

doesn't look like anything special to me...

dude... this is a piece of hardware I'm actually EXCITED about. My dad bought the M-Audio Duo back in July, and it sounds unfrigginbelievable. If they make a consumer card for $100 that's half that good... BLING BLING!

Heh, that's funny you guys say that. Many people over at AVS think this card is much better than the Audigy 2, even in respect to games. Guess you guys must not think much of the Audigy 2 either.

However, it also seems the card has its own set of problems, mostly driver/software related though. But biggest one being a line-in prob where people can't hear audio at all when using it. I'm sure it will be fixed soon though.

Funny I dont see that anywhere  Ive beed watching the Rev feedback thread since it opened, and through the 13 pages, I have not read anything at all about gaming with this card.

Is seems to be having some major problems with the line-ine though. Does anyone know about the Rightmark audio analyzer, and is this good?

Better then Audigy for a gamer? I doubt it, unless they somehow got EA HD lisence.

I dont know if it is good or not, but here is something to compare it with. You need to go to the article, as they do not permit direct links to there pics!

There were a few that posted about it and said it did very well, though I doubt it does as well in EAX as Audigy does. However, I believe EAX to be way overrated. Anyway, I'm getting the card this weekend and will post results.

as much as I love nvidia, from the one board I have listened to the analog out did not sound that great. Lots of background noise. I will be getting an Asus deluxe sometime this week and hopefully it doesn't have any problems. But soundstorm seems to be geared towards people with external digital decoders where as I have plain old Klipsch analog speakers. My GameTheaterXP doesn't do a bad job, but I wouldn't mind something better, thus my interest in M-Audio. However the more I read about the Audigy2 the more I like it, it's just hard to get over the bad aura surrounding Creative.

Dont get this card if you are a gamer, I think I'll be getting the Audigy2 as gaming will be the main use for my soundcard!
