a12ctic:

haha, you should at least try it before you say stupid **** like that

SLI is amazing, every game at 2048x1536 is amazing as well

dont be bitter because you dont have extra money to spend

By your logic, everyone should still be using their 386...because, sure it can do some things, but some people dont like crap computers

Yea that is completely false. I get nearly DOUBLE the FPS in Fear in some instances.

thats your opinion. and you have your right to it, but the next guy may not agree and thats his right. you are not correct in your thoughts, or incorrect. just different from the next man

That is 100% false. Humans see over 90FPS. Movies use a blending technique inbetween every frame so you don't notice the low framerate.

Also, high resolution gaming is very necessary if you have a large monitor.

Still don't believe me? See for yourself:

Found it. Actually, it was put out by 3dfx. Its kinda tricky to get working, but if you want this is how you do it.

Download this glide wrapper:
http://www.voodoofiles.com/17172

install, then run the configurator, when the menu loads up, leave it running in the background and launch the demo you DL here:

http://www.falconfly-central.de/downloads/3dfxdemo-3060hz.zip

60fps is on the left, 30fps is on the right.

The difference is easily night and day.

i really cant belive that i played WoW sense closed beta (recently stoped) and i couldnt make a difference with my 9000 pro (around 30-40 fps) and my 6600GT ( around 70-100)

If you were logical, you would use more tact in getting your point across. You are happy with your current config and that is great. It is easy to explain why you like what you do but, no reason to tell someone else what they should like.

2048x1536 is a very logical resolution for my config because of a 22" monitor.

Remember, The key to happiness is, knowing what makes you happy.

This is different for each person and to express what makes you happy might help others but, to be forceful, is rude. Try just sharing your ideas as we all do here and have a good time speaking with eachother.

jakUp do you like the winxp 64 bit edition?, is it fast and did all your equipment have 64 bit drivers, thanks.

ok i admit if you have a huge screen (no idea why, the only reson i can think of is 3d rendering or something of that sort and id get a quadro if i was a renderer) that a higher end card my be nice to utalize the screens potential, but i think for the casual and even hardcore gamer a 17' screen is fine as is a 6600GT or 6800 card...

Winx64 is working great for me. All my stuff has drivers, and its fast. I was waiting on the X-Fi drivers, but those were recently released.

if i were u id install linux :) faster, more reliable, and with a nvidia card (nvidia has great linux drivers) gaming is no problem (Wine, cedega)

thast the point. for you, that is fine. but for someone else that isnt enough. and let them go with what they want. i play games at 1280x1024 cause i like it that way on my 19" lcd. but other people like widescreen lcds and such, more power to them. they are not wrong or less cause of that preference, just different than you.

you know, its okay for people to be different

True,

Depends on a person's eyesight, what type of games or simulations one plays, and how much destop real estate one has.

Personally, If I could find a monitor that was able to produce 2048x1536, with 4:3 aspect ratio, bigger than 22", I would get it today. Why?

I would like to have all of my peripheral vision see a screen. Not the edges of the monitor. Estimating a 60 deg field of vision.
