View Full Version : 1Gb DIMMS DDR @ 550mhz

Anyone have suggestions for a brand of memory that is 1Gb Dimms DDR, matched pairs(1024 x 2 for 2048) that run at 550 mhz with low timings?
I use corsair now and it works pretty good up to about 490. Would like to go a little higher if possible.

Low timings isn't going to happen.
3-3-2 is probably the lowest you'll get at those speeds.
Your looking at getting either OCZ EB PC4000 2x1GB (good luck finding it in stock though!), Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (bad reports of these suddenly dying and going bad, bad batch I suppose), and there is always the G.Skill 2x1GB PC4000 (not sure what model number), oh yeah forgot to include the Mushkin Extreme Perf 2x1GB PC4000 (i'm buying this kit once I sell my Crucial)

Isn't pc4000 rated @ 250mhz? Looking for something rated @ 275mhz PC4400

OCZ Platinum PC4000 EB 2x1GB
I have some on order. Rated at 250mhz but most people are able to get 280 out of them (or so I've read). The only problem is that there seems to be a world wide shortage of them. I ordered mine on Nov 2 and they still havn't come in (this is from NCIX.com). Apparently they will be in in a few days *crosses fingers* *knocks on wood*. I've read lots of great things about them.
also might want to check out muskin redline pc4000 series. with enough voltage you can get them to 2-2-2-5 at 500MHz, so im sure you could get up to 550 with some looser timings.
dont know if they come in 1GB sticks....

Redline only comes in 512MB, and needs a minimum of 3.2v with active cooling to really shine.
Monnie Rock, yes the ram I post is all PC4000 but they do not sell PC4400 1GB Dimms so the ones I posted are your best chance at getting 550Mhz.

Thought I would chime in. i just recently bought the ram in my sig. some nice mushkin 1 gig dimms. These are under the redline model line, but dont require the high voltage the others do. I am pretty sure that they use the same chips as the OCZ low latency pc4000 sticks. Anyway, rock solid at ddr 500 3-3-2-5, and im sure they have a little more in them. Also handy in that I can run them at ddr 400 at 2-3-2-5. Hope this helps.

I didn't know redline came in 1gig modules, how much volts are you pushing through them?

They take 2.6-2.8, I've got them on 2.8. I got tired of waiting for the OCZ pc4000 EB to come into stock. Heres a review if you like. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Mushkin/XP4000-2GB
