18,614 3D Mark 05 (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=27999)

That with 2 Gainward 7800 GTX 512 cards clocked 779MHz core and 2052MHz memory running on air with stock cooling plus Athlon FX 57 clocked 3.9GHz on LN cooling. They used DFI LAN party Nforce 4 SLI motherboard for the benchmark.

18,614 3D Mark 05 is just for the game tests but it never used CPU test, if it did used the CPU test then I think the score could go close or break 20,000 3D Mark 05. But overclock the SLi cards to 779/2052 running fine with stock cooling is really amazing achievement where X1800 XT failed to ran 3D Mark 05 when it reached 2GHz memory.

I was following this for awhile now, Kinc was only like a couple of points away from Shamino for the WR.
congrats Kinc!

779 on the core w/stock cooling? That is like the ultimate in cherry picking. :)

where do you see stock cooling?
The cards were vmodded and under LN2

Give it a year, and one card can do the same thing :p

All I see are Nvidia stock coolers. In voltage regulator area, the chips were clipped with 2 cables that modded to 1.3V on each card with 2 spare heatsinks beside to cool the voltage regulator so here are no LN2 applied to it so you can see here are no room to place LN2 on each card so the only space to cool is the CPU.

You dont really need LN2 to cool 1.3V, it simply require just a heatsink to cool it off like my overclocked 2.42GHz Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Vcore is 1.34V, it cool off by a silent cooler heatsink.

Those things generate some SERIOUS heat even at stock settings. Last night I touched the PCB on my GTX512 while I had CS:S running. Holy crap it was hot. Just the backside of it. It wasn't hot enough that it burned my fingers or anything but dayum it got warm.

Hmmm interesting, look like you could need a thermal paste on voltage chips and stick with a heatsink just like other people did with the memory chips.

This is how they achieved the WR

Are you saying that they used 1.3v to get 700+ on the core?
Because the 512MB GTX uses 1.45v to get the stock 550 core.

I have no idea what you just said dude.

I think he meant that you could apply AS5 on the Voltage Regulators and stick the stock heatsink back on? Or at least that's what I understood.

And athlon you won't be able to apply thermal paste on the memory chips and use the stock heatsink, because there is a gap between them. There would be no contact on the mem if you did that.

....plus Athlon FX 57 clocked 3.9GHz on LN cooling.

Surprise! :p There's the reason I stuck with two 7800 GTs. Most CPUs are not going to fully use the power of two 7800 GTX 512mbs.

And that is an awesome score. Props to the fellow that turned it in.

I was expecting Kinc (the l33test man on the planet) to come along and take back the record he set a few weeks ago. What took him so long? :D

3dmark 07. I think they release a 3dmark every 2 years. 01, 03, 05, then 07. I do hope it's 06 though

Does not look like the stock cooler to me unless they are sending me different cards hehehe
will that fit in my case?

Oh I missed that pic! :p

The pic I uploaded showed the both cards measured 1.30V on the meter at default 550MHz core then afterward they added LN2 on top of the cards to clocked 779/2052 so I have no idea what voltage it used.

According to vr-zone (http://www.vr-zone.com.sg/?i=2930) its 3DMark06 although i myself believe 07 is more reasonable , but who knows 07 could conflict with DX10 so maybe thats why ...
