What kind of heating problems? My BFG 6800 Ultra OC has been running a little hotter than it used to lately (especially in FEAR where it would get HOT).

I think they stopped making the 6800GT OC so that could be why. Newegg hasn't even had a refurb for sale for a while.

Now I want to have heat problems.

lol - Hey maybe it's the same 6800GT you sent them but since you had heat issues they slapped an Ultra heatsink on it to dissipate more of that heat!!

HAHA j/k You should pop the cooler and make sure though! (xmastong)

I more or less had my 6800GT replaced with a 7800GT. I had to wait 3 months for mine though. 4 days and an Ultra is very Impressive.

Just got back from work! Installed the card :). Its an Ultra, you could also tell because of the 2 power connecter plugs! sig update time!

***also, a bit offtopic, does anyone know what would cause game main menus not to show up? I can see the video logo things, once its time for the main menu the screen goes black! (not a card problem, same thing happened right before i put my ultra in!) I tried to install new drivers but same thing. :(

Tried NFSMW, CoD2, CSS, HL2.

Do a clean install of video card drivers. It happened to me when I swapped a 6800GT instead of the 6600GT w/o re-installing the drivers.

hmm. I should send mine in saying the same thing. I wonder if they even check it out? 4 days seems a little fast for that.

My 6800GT (first AGP batch with original the single fan design) started having some weird heat problems too after a year of use. Temps would rise 15 C higher than usual and only slowly drop after the load was stopped.

I first cleaned it and my case out with compressed air. and it was only slightly better.. but after some time, the temps will still reach critical levels.

I was about to star the RMA process, but decided as a final check, I really went through and blasted every crevice and area around the heatsink and fan, slowly with tons of compressed air. Not much dust seemed to have came out.. but there must have been a critical clog somewhere, cause afterwards, it ran just fine..

But thats nice to know..
