OK. Final question. Which one is better the Intel P4 3GHz 2mb cache or the AMD 64 3200. The price of this AMD is about the same as the P4 which is about my budget range. This is South Africa. PC components is a comparatively a bit more expensive here than in America.

Any input would be appreciated.

Oh, yes. Another thing. How are the fans that come standard with the CPUs

AMD 64 3200+ :)

And the fans that come with the CPU's are fine... remember that Intel/AMD need to warranty them for 3 years, so they are good :)

I should have asked this before since I'm getting good advice here.

What brand motherboard would be good with an AMD. I can't afford the top of the line. So could you please recommend something mid-rangish.

Hey, Hey, Hey!!! I just saw that I broke through the 100 post mark.

I can't believe that you haven't been called on this already...

What's an AMD 63? :D

I would DEFINETELY get the AMD. Mobo wise I would get an MSI board. I love those things. If you have an AGP videocard right now I would get the Asrock 939 Dual like myself so you can go PCI-E whenever.

Oh yeah...make sure you go socket 939! And Venice core!

Maybe all 64-bits are outlawed in South Africa, so they have to lop one off in order to sell the chips? :p

My humblest apologies for this inexcusable typo.:sry:
