I'm a SkyOS user and one of the big sores we've lived with is the lack of any 3D support. When they talked to ATI, they all but said "F*ck you." and Nvidia has just kind of ignored them. I know that it's asking waaaay too much to ask that nvidia develop a SkyOS driver. But SkyOS's sole developer Robert would be more than willing to drop everything he's doing to work on a 3D driver if nvidia provided the specs he needs to build one. He'll sign any NDA nvidia shoves under his nose and respect it.

Anyway, I just though I'd throw that out there.

I would bet the proverbial agriculture endeavor on getting the same response from NVIDIA as I would from ATI. If NVIDIA won't release any code for Linux (which probably has 100x more users) what makes you think they would do anything for SkyOS? Should there be a market for it, NVIDIA will probably develop something.

The idea is that NVIDIA won't open their code. They don't open it to any linux devs because there's no need. They officially support the OS. For SkyOS, all they'd have to do is provide documentation and an NDA to the developer for it. There's a difference between opening the code to single developer and to the whole world.

If NVIDIA releases anything to one person, NDA or not, they would have to release it to anyone doing the same thing. Major slippery slope there.
