I've just built a second computer with Windows 2000 Professional, and I need to run something like MSconfig, to disable programs that run on startup. Does this exist on Win2000 under a different name?
Windows 2000/XP uses services (and not only)
You can disable some services from starting by going into Administrative Tools->Services
Another way is to get a ripped msconfig from XP and put it into c:\winnt\system32
If you want to run it just simply go to Start->Run->msconfig
You can get msconfig for Windows 2000 here:

Another alternative is to download an app called Startup Control Panel:

Umm if what i just read in school is correct you can just go to the run command and type in mmc. In there you should be able to add a snap-in that enables a hell of a lot of tweaks like msconfig.
