View Full Version : Boot device, large or small?

I just picked up a new 160gb WD. I'm also reinstaling XP pro. Due to some limitations with the software I have I'm having a really hard time using the 160gb as the boot device. 137gb barrier and 48-bit LBA are to blame.

Does it matter if I use my 80gb as the Masterboot and use the 160gb as the slave and or storage/swapfile, I guess, would it be as optimal as using the 160gb as the master?

OOOOOOOOOOOooooo Just thought of somthing what if I installed and patched XP pro then used the WD Data lifeguard tools to copy C: over to D: and then swap the 160 to the master. MMMmmm

Right, so...I'm going to just install on the 80 and copy the OS over to the 160. I hope it work. I'll be back in a few. Thanks for all the replys. :D (xmassign)
