View Full Version : M$ X360.. so privacy invasion..seems..
http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=4040 has put up this article.
I still dont understand what is he ranting for. since most of those who SEE his profile are strangers. And even if they saw what he was doin, how would they pro'lly know that its him...? i mean he is a total stranger to/for them. They would pro'lly just ignore...like i'd do.
But His Boss saw his status (xmasgrin) . well thats sumthin bad. (unexpected actually).
I wonder why didnt M$ categorize the status. i mean instead of just "watching Movie" they could made "Watching Pirated movie" (if watching a pirated disc), or "Watching Hardcore p0rnO" or watching Matrix revo. etc etc.
Same with other things.
Well, Now since he realised this happening, cant he just unplug the lan/internet wire?
Edit: link fixed!

Yes, I thought it was quite funny that he must've put hours and hours into that article, yet he didn't even take the time to look at his Xbox Live settings. You'd think that if he saw something about Xbox Live that made him annoyed, checking if it can be disabled would be the first thing you do. It's like playing a PC game and complaining that it's locked at a certain resolution because you never bothered to check the options screen to see if it can be changed.

Someone had to stumble through this, I suppose.
(I'm trying very hard not to shout "Idiot!" here...stuff just doesn't occur to people sometimes until after the fact, which is a virtually universal truth.)

Agreed.
I could understand if they had a camera installed that displayed what was in front of the system all of the time... but it just gives a general idea of what you are doing from the looks of it (pics, movies, downloading stuff)... nothing to complain about for the normal people... only people who get griped at for not working when they should and getting caught because of it :\.

I can't find the author of the article, is it there?
Anyway it's pretty stupid who cares if you are listening to music or whatever. The reason we don't ring up the neighbours and tell them we are eating dinner is because they don't give a toss.
Edit: Nick Haywood I am going blind
This is just another example of people sitting around trying to find something negative to say about the Xbox360. Maybe Hexus' site would be more popular if they put this much effort into some positive or informative articles.

Would you care if any stranger would look if yu r watchin movie or playin games. He wont care...i feel you shouldnt either. (Unless offcourse it shows what exactly are you viewing :D)

If his IQ was bigger than his shoenumber he would have just selected the option that 'hides' him when he's online with the 360. Just like you can in MSN and similar programs.
I'm amazed at the negative spin lots of people/sites are trying to put on the 360.
Well, i didnt read the UPDATE. where he realises that it can be hidden, and i didnt know about it, coz i dont own x360.
Either ways, it wouldnt affect me or most much. It By no means is privacy invasion.
