As long as there is a Return to Napali type expansion pack for it, I'll be happy as a clam. I love the first Unreal but Napali made that game so much better. Of course I plan to be one of the first kids on my block to fire that bad boy up.:D

I remember the first Unreal that was one of the BEST game ever made with gameplay and Graphics  , Unreal 2 remainds me of it , but from graphich point of view its not so exciting as it used to be :( looks just the same as UT2k3 bah..

I remember playing the original Unreal for a bit getting very bored and not playing any more. Unreal 2 does look good, i just hope it doesn't get boring this time.

Back when Unreal first came out in '98, I can remember being immersed in that world for 5 - 6 hrs a day, everyday. I doubt I'll be that engaged this time around being older but I will surely be one of the first to grab it off the shelves ;)

Apparently the Unreal addon (done by Legend) and Wheel of Time (done by Legend) are very good. so I suspect Unreal 2 (...) should be good too :)

I agree on WoT. I don't even read the books anymore, but the game is cool.

dont expect unreal 2 to use an sqeaky clean engine. it uses the same one as UT2k3. and i have a question:

I've got a :
AMD 2000xp
256mb ddr
geforce4 440se 64mb

and for some reason, if i run ut2k3 with all the gfx settings at the highest at 1024x768, i get quite good fps. BUT if i put them at medium at 640x480, it runs worse!!! im not saying this is a bad thing, but its....weird dont you think?

While technically they both use the Unreal engine, the Legend version has a lot of their own code...particle systems, animation systems, and things...

It should look better in some ways, if not all.

I'll second that. That's exactly how I felt about the first one.

Maybe silly, but any news on a possible release date or a demo (infact demo first so that I can try before i buy)?

A couple fansites are speculating about a Feb 5 released but I'd say expect it around early feb, not sure about a demo although it would make since to help workout any remaining bugs.

I THINK how it goes is they're planning on releasing a demo AFTER the full game as demos are extra work they didn't want to put in while trying to finish the game.

well thats not really smart considering the primary benefit dev's get from putting out prerelease game demos is the uncover bugs not found during internal testing, as well as other feedback.

Lots of people do it, smart or not.

I'd rather have it this way meself. I want the game as soon as possible :)

I remember waiting for patches with Unreal 1. It was more like 3 patches a year, and each one caused more problems than it fixed. Aslong as it doesn't use Glide as its primary API it will be cool

It took me just 2 days to complete Unreal, and I loved every minute of it.

Now, thanks to the S3TC UT textures patch, I'm back playing Unreal again only on a much harder setting, and still loving it.

Great music, great atmosphere.
Comeone, who wasn't amazed the very first time you stepped out of the crashed ship, and looked around an amazing looking, and fully breathing world ? With that great soundtrack in the background, and that amazing looking sky, waterfall, creatures.

Man, I can't wait for Unreal2. As long as UK'ers don't have to wait forever.

I'm right there with you Fusion;)

lol almost forgot about the old glide api :p and yea, I agree Unreal was riddled w/ bugs when it was first released, but seeing how far epic has come w/ the unreal engine and the fact that Legend was the primary developer for U2, imo it shouldn't be too painful this time around;)
