For two reasons.

1. Mario Cart

2. Super Smash Brothers

whose with me? (xmasgrin)

On a side note I don't care what the graphics are, Nintendo KNOWS how to make a good game. When they make a game, you can bet it will be fun. Most games that come out nowadays are nothing but DISAPPOINTMENTS. We look at the pretty graphics and thing "wow that game looks amazing". Then this happens:

Doom 3: GREAT GRAPHICS.... very repetative

QUAKE 4: GREAT GRAPHICS... no bots?

FEAR: GREAT GRAPHICS... FUN!!!... then you realize that if you have played lvl 1 you have played the last lvl. Every fight is the exact same.

Battlefield 2: Semi Great graphics.... VERY BUGGY.... VERY UNBALANCED

Halflife 2: One of the RARE games that actually lived up to the hype IMO. Still, at times it seemed more or less they were trying to do "look what our engine can do" instead of making the game even more fun.

ETC

ETC...

Most people say "you hyped up the game to much, thats why you don't like it". No I don't like most games because they just simply aren't good. Nintendo has NEVER failed to bring fun games. Nothing about them is ever hyped. They never say "wow look at these graphics". Instead, they say "look at how fun this game is". They always live up to it.

A toast to Nintendo Revolution. (cheers)

Yea, alot of nintendo games are pretty fun.

Nintendo consistently fails at bringing out fun games to me... Zelda has been basically the same thing for the last decade, Mario games suck now (and I am getting REALLY tired of all of the spin offs), and Metroid Prime 2 was almost the exact same thing as Metroid Prime.

Graphics aren't everything, but graphical limitations say a lot about if I will purchase it... and I don't want to wave a TV remote around like an idiot just to play a game.

360 + PS3 = All I need.

I'm having an Xbox360 for sure, I'll wait deciding whether or not I want to acquire a Nintendo Revolution till more details, or even reviews, are available (xmasmile)

I found plenty of fun in Doom3, Quake4 and especially FEAR and Battlefield 2. Guess we're all different ;)

I find it funny that Nintendo touts innovation when its Nintendo themselves that thrive on the same franchises (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc) to turn a profit.

Well, the point of Revolution is cheapness and ease of development so the devs can spend way more resources on making actual innovative and quality game design.

About the graphics ; take these games and think graphics 2x as good :

- RE4
- SW Rogue Leader
- MGS Twin Snakes
etc.

Nintendo had awesome stuff back in the day, lately though, I feel things are getting repetitve, not that i'm saying fps's on pc havent gotten that way, cause they have, they all seem to rip off each other and add an element or two of their own and make a game.

But Nintendo, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Zelda Wind Waker, etc all seemed dated on cube, like the ideas are either pure ****, or i've just realized ive grown out of that stuff. I dunno...damn shame either way. Mario Kart for snes was one of the greatest games ever made, i play it on my psp still.

The only reason I haven't chucked my gamecube to the wolves is becuase of RE4 and Baten Kaitos.

Problem is that Nintendo is being stupid and not supporting HD... so the graphics might not be "2x" better... too limited with a max of only progressive scan (480p).

I think this would probably be more entertaining than the revolution:

I think the revolution should be called a "gaming appliance" rather than a game console.

Well Nintendo never fails to bring fun games because it brings out the same 10 games with every console release and merely touches up graphics and gameply on each, and those are the games that end up doing the best in sales.

It's Nintendo that needs fanBoys like you to go out and buy each system to play the same games they've grown up with for the past 20 years, no hurt intended Cuz I like Nintendo too and own all previous systems lol (snowman)

The Revolution is pretty much guaranteed a spot on my shelf even though not one game or a big name developer has been announced. Downloadable classic games, free Wi-Fi with a online magazine, innovative controller, under $300 doesnt hurt either. A new Mario, Metroid and Zelda will be worth it alone but can you imagine playing a reved up Duck Hunt with that controller? It would be like Christmas 1987 all over again.

I'm buying a Revolution as well. I don't think I could go on without Zelda or Mario. Besides, their 3rd party support looks to be better this time around.

Why do you say that? We don't really know anything about their third party support, yet.

Wow. Just wow. People actually still take Nintendo seriously at all? Really?

Nintendo hasn't done anything worth a spit since the SNES. I bought the N64 and it had like...3 decent games (I only remember Golden Eye but there must have been 1 or 2 more) that cost double what Playstation games were costing then.

*cough (http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y)*

Most post-Playstation consoles only have a few games worth remembering. I think we can trace back to that point in time to mark the near-death of innovation in video games. Only a few developers these days can claim to be truly great, in my opinion anyway. Platform has nothing to do with the quality of games, btw. Resident Evil 4 didn't suffer at all on the Gamecube.

We need another Deus Ex to come along soon. World of Warcraft is good enough for the interim. :)

And being a huge Zelda and Mario fan, I will most assuredly be buying a Revolution - some time after my PS3, that is.
