laptop hard drive, which brand?

I've been looking into purchasing a (barebones) laptop and am curious what you guys would recomend. Any idea how much NCQ would speed things up?

The Pre-IBM merger Hitachi drives were hella quiet. But nowadays everyone who makes a laptop drive has some sort of liquid bearing or fluid bearing technology, so they're all pretty quiet.

good question Old...I got a Dell lap top to repair today, its got a dead HD. I need a replacement but know very little about lappy parts.

Seagate. I have a 100 GB 5400 in my powerbook and it's quiet and fast.

I just got a 7200 rpm 100 GB hitachi (because the 7200 Seagate was sold out) and already regret it, it isn't very fast. Quiet enough when not seeking. I can't directly compare to the Seagate because it's in my Thinkpad.
