View Full Version : Opteron 939, safe voltages?
My new Opty175, doesen't seem to be a great OCer, maybe the only one in the world..hehe(welcome to the world of Riptide's luck ;) )
Anyway, its default Vcor is 1.35v I've gotten to 240x11 on 1.41 volts, I'm wondering if its safe to go for a full 1.45v , (temps are ok, mid 30C) I'm cooling with a Zalman CNPS9500
Any thoughts, tx

i bet it would be. i have a single core opty that runs at 1.45 volts at 2.4 ghz. if i set it to 1.5v, it will be 2.8 ghz but 2.4 is plenty for me
Thanks, zoomy.....but after some careful testing its clear that the CorsairXMS PC4000 I'm using with the CPU is not able to run at anywhere near its rated speed of 250. The XMS fails memtest and Prime95 almost instantly @ 200/250 :(
I should be shot for rebuilding......the XFX GTs have 4 pin connectors and fans that always run at 100%(lovely  ), I have to go through an RMA process with them....Now the mem is **** and even though the parts are defective newegg wants a 15% restocking fee, so I have to deal with that crap too.

set your memory at 166 and then over clock your cpu .I have some of that Corsair PC 4000 and I can't get it to run DDR500 no matter how lose I set the timeings ,I got a set of Corsair PC3200XL and it will run a lot faster then the PC4000.
