When Nvidia released the go 7800GTX there was a lot of talk about the fact that it was SLI compatable. Has anyone seen any SLI notebooks in production yet?

Too much heat and size for a notebook.
omg, could you imagine the battery life from that notebook! You would have to SLi 2 batteries together to get 30 minutes of play time!
I seriously doubt the idea of SLI & notebooks together.

well there is a rumor of ATi mobile Xfire.
ATi has demonstrated to their partners a notebook featuring Mobility X800XT in Crossfire... (http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=2981)
I dont think nVIDIA is going let ATi take all the credit for a dual GPU Notebook.they would probably come up with their own SLI notebook solution.Of course battery life is going to be a problem,we have to wait and see how they are going to overcome this problem(and the generated heat).
The battery life wouldn't be a problem for me. I rarely, if ever, use my laptop's battery since I use it more like a portable. It seems like heat would be a major issue though.

Is ATi still leading the mobile market share? When I joined this board, I read that ATi had like 40% of the total mobile market. Surely nVidia has overtaken them by now?

Is ATI even still in business? I thought they folded a few months ago. (rudolf)

Nvidia can't overtake them without a good mobile IGP chipset.
Ati still in the lead for notebooks. I read some article on xbit.. when 7300 Go was announced!

Only reason I did not buy one of the new dual care AMD notebooks with the 7800GTX go was I heard the rumor of the SLI setup. My plan is to wait to see if it is all hog-wash or if it becomes reality. Yes, battery life will be short but, I mostly drive around with my notebook on a stand inside my vehicle, plugged into a inverter. Be nice for when I stop and get a break or out of town to do some quality gaming with eye candy on. 1900x1200 native resolution will need a SLI with the latest games.
