ATI said they will included AVIVO software with the driver, I extracted the file and looked everywhere, the AVIVO software wasnt in the driver, it seem AVIVO software is still in beta and will release in future driver or seperately next year.
Is it supposed to be a part of the drivers or something you download separately. I've had an AVIVO menu item in all the drivers but I'm not sure what to look for to see if I have the new functionality or whatever.

I am talk about AVIVO Converter software.
I just re-installed my MMC, no friggin way I am installing these drivers right now.
Their changelog doesn't say that MMC is not screwed up everytime I install new cats even though there is NO CHANGE in the mmc in what, 5 months now?

Thanks for the heads up...it might be time to upgrade them again.
Only problem I have had of late with the gfx drivers is that I went to clean out the installed apps, and so removed .net 1.1 as 2.0 is installed. I even re-ran the .Net 2.0 installer in case in the upgrade there were some parts of 1.1 in place (to get a a fresh 2.0 install). I cleaned some other stuff out too; especially considering that my kernel memory usage has been getting too high (hitting the 128 MB upper memory limit), to try to trim some stuff down...
Anyhow the ATI control center doesn't work anymore at least for the 5.12 driver set. Perhaps a fresh install of the 5.13 driver set will correct this.

No you need .NET 1.1 installed for it to work.
Something they are supposedly fixing in 6.1.
And yes it's annoying. I had a pure 2.0 environment and it wouldn't work for me either. So I had to load 1.1 and then run the 1.1sp1 patch. It would be nice if they, you know, actually indicated somewhere on the download screen that you need 1.1 installed. But ofcourse they don't.
The 5.13s seem fine on the XT for the most part. I put my old X800 Pro in my parents system but choose to stick with the 5.12s in that one so I could use the regular Control panel. Hopefully the petition for the old style CP will make a difference.

I wonder if ATI has made some sort of official response to this. 2800 signatures is a lot.

2800 is zilch if you have millions of users.
The arguments of the OP are moat and it is of everyones intrest to focus on a single platform, it's just a shame that the launch of CCC alongside Vista.. didn't work out quite well, but then again, that's what you get if you partner with microsoft too much.
