I just got my new computer hardware from newegg.

I got:
A Gigabyte GA-K8U-939 ULi motherboard to replace my Asus A7n8x Deluxe
An AMD Athlon 3500+ Venice to replace my AMD Athlon XP 2800+
A 1gig PC3200 stick of Geil ram to go with my 2X 512mb PC3200

I put everything in my same case without any problems. I install the mobo drivers that were on the disk and updated my nVidia 6800GT AGP 8X drivers to 81.98 from the nVidia website. So I decide to play my favorite game, Battlefield 2 with the Special Forces expansion. It had to optmize the shaders while it was loading, which always takes a while. When the game started I got more lag then I did with my old hardware. I'll be playing and when I turn around in the game it the video and sound starts skipping. I tried other games, Counter-Strike source, Battlefield Vietnam, Call of Duty 2 mulitplayer, Rome Total Barbarian Invasion, America's Army, and Day of Defeat Source. All ran much better than it did before so why is Battlefield 2 running worse then it used to and how may I be able to fix it. I run the game with all high settings at 1280X1024, the settings I've always ran it at.

Maybe its a sound related glitch? Its hard to say. Try messing with all the options available in the game and in windows

Just curious, did you format between changing all that hardware?

Otherwise im suprised it hasnt screwed right up yet.

hardware upgrade w/o format = stability suicide!

Really, I didn't think it would matter. Like I said, the system and all the other games work fine. I guess I'll maybe reformat later on if I can't find any other solutions.

I have found that BF2 runs worse after the 1.12 Special Forces patch is applied. Special Forces is definitely slower than BF2.

Yeah, I agree with that. Not sure why though.

I could not agree more!!! No surprise though that EA screwed BF2 up again. Just when it was working flawlessly..... lol.
