Wow, amazing. Well at least they got it out this year, now they can at least brag that the game was released the same year as the Xbox 360! Kinda invalidates Gamespot's "Best of 2005" awards though...the game wasn't even in the running, even though it came out in 2005!

Dead or Alive 4 also boasts incredible new interactive stages, an all star line-up of old and new favorite characters, and the most complex DOA countering system yet

Bolded for emphasis.

Oh boy, that means when playing in single player, the AI will be able to pull off counter moves any normal human would dream of. Some things never change.

Naturally this doesn't change the fact that this game will eventually become part of my 360 repertoire, 'cause I gotta have my polygonal b00bies. :drooling:

Too bad the DOA series is terrible for fighting games... I will always prefer my Tekken, Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc... the fighting isn't deep enough for me :(.

I hear ya......I respect the DOA series and all, but if it weren't for the "polygonal b00bies" as saturn quotes ;) I probably wouldn't be into the series at all...

I am more of a Capcom & SNK type of guy, guess I'm old skewl with 2d fighting still

Yeah, me too.. I mean... when I first played 3d fighting games I was like "OMGZ AUSEUM!@"... but now I wish we would go back to 2d sprite fighting... Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is one of my favorite games ever and I just love how freaking fun that game is.

As much as I love Marvel vs. Capcom, I just can't see it as being considered deep (not the second one, anyway). It's certainly fun, but the fact that I could become good at it when I'm usually terrible at figuring out fighters should tell you something. I try playing the SNK fighters and when I play against someone good at it, I feel like I'm driving a car without a steering wheel. DoA almost anyone can pick up and play, and while not as deep as Virtua Fighter and the like, it still offers enough complexity to stay interesting for a while. Especially now that you can't win every match just by countering :p

Edit: Oh, and speaking of DoA4, Xboxyde has videos of both the intro movie and some gameplay (though sadly, they aren't in full resolution): http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2438_en.html

The first two DOAs were great but after that they got stupid. I mean the fights go so quickly yet they make these HUGE maps that you can never see all of unless you play 2 player and wander around...

The Tekken and Virtua Fighter series are far better as fighters.

This is the first game that actually has me tempted to buy an xbox360. I'm having a lot of fun with Soul Caliber 3 though, but online play would kick it to a whole new level of addiction. So tempting. Fortuantely for my bank account there are still no xbox360s available. PLenty of DOA4 copies though.

The graphics in DOA4 are incredible! They rival those found in Kameo. My problem with the game is the horrible online aspect of the game and the rediculously hard AI in single player. Another thing that Tecmo should do is move away from the baby doll art work and use more realistic modelling. All in all DOA4 is a great fighting game and should keep Xbox360 owners busy till the true next gen titles start hitting store shelves. (Gears of War!!!....)

Is there damage/blood skins in it? I didn't like the sterile look of DoA 3

Anyway when did jAkUp care about 360 games? Did he get one? :D

I'm looking forward to some feedback on this game..
