Any reason to pay xtra for a 2GB kit over 2 1gb sticks?

I can save $10 by buying two sticks instead of the kit, any reason not to buy them separatly for dual channel? Why would the kit cost more?

Normally, the kit costs less. If you can piece together two sticks for less, do it. There's no difference.

becuz the kit (Corsair Twinx I assume ? ) is picked and tested as a pair and thus guaranteed to work at dualchannel spec.

Yeah its Corsair ValueSelect. I figured they might be a paired set but wanted to make sure.
