View Full Version : what is the best pci card?
Hello all, hope you guys had a good x-mas :D I have a little question i been asking forever and no one can seem to answer. What in teh world is the best pci card out there? I heard rumors the 5700le was the best then ppl say the ati radeon 9250 is the best. What i currently have is a geforce 5500fx overclocked. My graphics are all on low and i run dx7 (pitty me) i mean i get very good fps like about 80-125 avg which i shouldnt be complaining. If anyone can help me by telling me the best for my crappy pci mobo would be highly appreciated.
(cheers)

That's just the way technology works. No getting around it either. While nothing is truly future-proof, you can still find some inexpensive machines that will last a good while. Places like TigerDirect sell Athlon XP or Socket 754 Athlon 64 barebones systems with AGP slots for a couple hundred dollars. You could even salvage components like your hard drive and optical drivers from your current system. Tack on a GeForce 6600 GT AGP card and you'd have something that would be able to handle just about every game out there.
