Dual view help

I recently purchased a new monitor and wanted to setup a dualview setup. I have had my comp hooked up to my tv before and all it displayed was the desktop it wasnt spanned but you could still put windows on it and I cant figure out how to do it now that I have 2 monitors. Horizontal span is fine but.. i would like to run each monitor at a different res if thats possibile I would also like to maxamize on one monitor so it doesnt stretch across both.

I appreciate the help.

Ok so I got dual view working
now all I need to now is how to change the back ground on the second monitor

I run my system this way a lot. Open nView Desktop Manager - go to the Desktops tab - click Properties - check "Allow different backgrounds per display"
